These terms and the plan details presented when you subscribe form your agreement with us. A paid subscription begins when Stripe confirms it.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 to subscribe, or have authority to act for the organisation purchasing the service. Provide accurate information, keep access to your sign-in email secure and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been misused. Do not share sign-in codes or use someone else’s account without authority.

You are responsible for activity you authorise through your account. We may take proportionate steps to verify ownership or protect an account where there is a genuine security concern.

3. The gallery service

Arthouse83 provides tools to upload artwork, design virtual galleries, arrange exhibitions, publish links, embed galleries on other websites and view exhibition statistics. Browser and device capabilities affect the experience; the 3D viewer requires a compatible browser and WebGL support.

Unpublished galleries remain private. Publishing makes the selected exhibition and its displayed content publicly accessible. Keep your own original artwork files and independent backups. Arthouse83 is an exhibition service, rather than a guarantee of permanent archival storage, visitor numbers or artwork sales.

4. Plans and free introductory access

Current plan names, prices, billing periods and limits appear in our Prices section and are confirmed when you subscribe. Gallery limits include both unpublished and published galleries. Image limits apply to unique images across your collection; reusing the same library image in another gallery does not use another image allowance.

The standard introductory offer is one free calendar month with Solo limits: one gallery and 50 images, with no card required. Any different offer shown when you join takes precedence. At the end of free access, an account without a paid plan or complimentary membership is suspended. Selecting a paid plan is a separate choice; we do not automatically charge someone who has only used the no-card introduction.

If you subscribe during the free period, Checkout shows the first charge date and any remaining free time. A minimum payment-provider trial period may slightly extend that time. Complimentary access has the plan and expiry communicated when granted; it does not create a paid subscription automatically.

5. Prices, payment and renewal

Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable. Stripe handles payment details and subscription billing. Monthly subscriptions renew monthly and annual subscriptions renew yearly, with annual fees paid up front, unless cancelled before renewal. Checkout identifies the selected plan, billing frequency, price and first charge date before you confirm.

You authorise the recurring payments you agree to at checkout. Keep your billing and payment details up to date. If a payment fails, access may be suspended while the payment is recovered. We will provide any payment, renewal or contract notices required by applicable law.

A new published price does not automatically change an existing subscriber’s agreed price. If we propose changing an existing subscription’s price or materially changing its service, we will explain the change in advance and provide any cancellation or other rights required by law.

6. Changing or cancelling a plan

Use the Plan tab in your artist studio to open Stripe’s subscription portal, view invoices, change payment details or cancel renewal. If you cannot use the portal, contact team@socoprojects.co.uk so we can help with your request.

Cancellation of renewal normally preserves access until the current paid period ends. Plan changes may create a proportionate charge or credit, or take effect at a later billing date; the portal shows the applicable amount and timing before you confirm.

If your collection exceeds a lower plan’s limits, public exhibitions may be paused until you reduce the collection or upgrade. Expiry or suspension keeps your saved content, but limits editing, uploads and public viewing. You can still sign in, manage billing, read your saved content and remove items.

Except where a legal right applies or we agree otherwise, cancelling renewal does not automatically refund the unused part of a paid period. To request a refund or correction, contact us with your account email and the relevant invoice reference.

7. Consumer cancellation and statutory rights

If you purchase as a consumer, mandatory consumer protections apply in addition to these terms. These may include a 14-day cooling-off period and rights where a service is not provided with reasonable care and skill or does not match what was agreed. Nothing here removes a right the law gives you.

To exercise an applicable cancellation right, send a clear request to our email or postal address. You can use this wording: “I give notice that I cancel my Arthouse83 subscription, ordered on [date], for account [email]. My name is [name] and my address is [address].” Include the date of your request. You do not have to use this wording.

Starting to use the service will not by itself be treated as a waiver of statutory rights. Any legally permitted request for immediate supply or acknowledgement affecting cancellation rights must be obtained separately and explained clearly. Any statutory refund will follow the applicable law.

8. Closing and reinstating your account

Use Account in the artist studio to close your account and confirm using your account email. Closing hides your public exhibitions immediately and stops subscription renewals. It does not automatically refund fees already paid or remove any outstanding lawful charge. We send confirmation and reminders seven days and one day before the scheduled deletion date.

You have 30 days from closure to sign in and choose Reinstate account, or contact us for help before the deadline. Reinstating restores saved content and cancels scheduled deletion. Your original trial and paid-period dates remain unchanged; automatic subscription renewal is not restarted. Choose a plan or manage your subscription if continued paid access is needed.

After the recovery period ends, the account and its galleries and artwork are permanently deleted, except for necessary statutory records. Recovery is no longer available after the deadline. Current data remains available while in use by an open account; historical records such as statistics and superseded exhibition versions expire within three calendar months. The single previous published version is available for rollback only during its retention period. See our Privacy statement for retention details.

9. Your artwork and intellectual property

You retain ownership of the intellectual property in your artwork and other uploaded material. You must own it or have the rights and permissions needed to upload, reproduce, publish and display it, including any necessary permissions relating to people shown in images.

You grant us a non-exclusive licence to store, copy, resize, convert and display your content as needed to operate the service, publish exhibitions as you direct, create gallery previews and supply related features. We may use service providers for those purposes. This licence does not give us a general right to sell your artwork or use it to train AI models.

The gallery watermark option adds visible branding and a hidden provenance identifier to displayed images. It is enabled by default and can be changed in gallery details. Watermarks do not prevent every form of copying or prove who copied a work. Ownership remains with the relevant rights holder.

The hosting and display licence ends when the relevant content is removed, except as needed for protected backups, legal obligations, resolving disputes and retained provenance records described in the Privacy statement. We cannot remove copies independently made by visitors or third-party websites.

10. Acceptable use and content concerns

Do not use the service to publish unlawful, infringing, deceptive or abusive content; disclose another person’s confidential information without authority; distribute malware; bypass access controls; impersonate others; or interfere with the service. Do not collect visitors’ information unlawfully or use another person’s artwork without permission.

Report an alleged rights infringement or other content concern to our contact email. Include the relevant gallery link, a description of the concern, your relationship to the work and contact information. We may seek further information, restrict access while investigating and give the account holder an opportunity to respond where appropriate.

We may suspend or remove content or accounts where reasonably necessary for security, serious misuse, non-payment, legal obligations or protection of others. We will explain the reason and provide a way to contact us where lawful and practicable. Financial and consumer rights remain subject to applicable law.

11. Artist stores and external websites

Artists may link their artwork or gallery to an external shop. Unless we expressly state otherwise, an artwork sale is between the buyer and the relevant seller. The seller handles the artwork description, price, payment, delivery, returns and any purchase contract. Arthouse83’s subscription fee buys the gallery service.

External stores and websites apply their own terms and privacy information. Linking to a site does not make us the seller or imply that we have verified every listing. Take reasonable care before making a purchase or sharing information.

12. Availability and responsibility

We aim to provide a reliable service and use reasonable care and skill, but maintenance, network faults or third-party failures can interrupt access. We may make reasonable changes to maintain security, compatibility and functionality. Material reductions to an agreed service will be handled in accordance with your contractual and statutory rights.

We do not exclude liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. For consumers, we remain responsible for losses for which the law makes us responsible, including reasonably foreseeable loss caused by our breach.

For business customers only, and to the extent permitted by law, we exclude indirect or consequential loss and lost profit, revenue or business opportunity. Our total liability for other claims arising in any 12-month period is the greater of the subscription fees you paid in that period and £100. This limit is subject to the exceptions above.

13. Complaints, changes and governing law

Contact us first if you have a concern about the service or a bill, giving enough detail for us to investigate. We will consider complaints fairly and explain the outcome. Contacting us does not remove any right to seek another remedy.

We may update these terms for future use of the service. We will give appropriate notice of material changes affecting an existing agreement and explain any choice to cancel. Changes will not retrospectively remove rights you already have.

The governing law is the law of England and Wales. Business disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. Consumers retain any mandatory protections and rights to use other courts available under the law where they live.

Personal information is handled as described in our Privacy statement.
